Some seriously heavy assault troops for my Guard. These will smash any opponent and will begin with some bugs  tonight. Think I catched the 90s 2nd edition feel. Yarrick will accompany them.

More stuff I don't think I've shown here on the blog. Finished my Ratlings the other month. Went all in with 90s style on these. Real fun doing the goblin green bases. My ogryns will get the same. And one day I'll redo the bases on all my 2nd edition minis. Gonna have to get a load of goblin green paint. Also made progress on my russians too. Not many left now. Can't praise contrast enough. Great stuff. See if I buy some new base stuff too. Should be fun using something new 'cause there has been a lot of new basing stuff the relesead the last years. Sprayed my Fallschirmjäger and DAK with wraithbone too. Need more paint for them but they should be finished in a few weeks. So tempted at doing some WW2 supply trucks but I don't have the means to buy some right now and I need to focus on the stuff I got in the pipeline.

Work continues on my ogryns and DkoK. Did the first layer of cadian fleshtone on the ogryns. Didn't like that colour before but it feels better after watching Duncan Rhodes video. Apparently when using cadian fleshtone you need to apply it in 2 stages got get a good coverage and nice shading. Always thought it was a bit thin in consistency but now I know why and how to use it. I got a hold of 2 vehicles for my zombie collection. Roughed them up a bit and painted them fittingly grisly for the Z-apocalypse. 

Some stuff I'm working on right now. Got some ork kommandos on the desk too. Assembled some new cadians and Warlord fallschirmsjäger I bought a while back. Such a difference in assembling. The newer GWs are a tough to assemble. Unless it's snapfit. I mean 6 parts just for the body. Almost miss the old plastic catachans. Now let's pray for some Made to order OOP Imperial guards. Tallarns would be awesome.

Watched some of Erics hobby workshop videos and got inspired to get some more colours and finish some terrain projects. Think I'll do more tonight. Have some terrain pieces that lack details and other brighter colours. Could have done a ton more details on these but more tempted at building new ones.

Another batch of 40k 2nd edition monopose Tyranids are done. Went with contrast on these too. Works well with old monopose plastics. I've undercoated 5 ork kommandos and a Ratling squad for 2nd edition too and begun painting the metal details.
My cultist are soon to be done too. Got some of the base left and the boots on the minaitures. I liked the purple details I painted. Not a very much used paint in my collection.

This weekend I finally got some paint on my new board. Went with 2 different shades of brown as base using spray cans and then went with drybrushing the whole lot. Took the entire friday evening but well worth it. Now I have a worthy display board for my minis.

Some of my newer cultists. Lovely box and they paint up real nice. Cool details and nice poses. The renegade commissar was a given purchase the first time I saw him. He will make a cool addition to my cultist horde. Hope to see more like him in the future.

This is the stuff I've been working on lately. I finished my Arco flagellants and 2nd edition Genestealers. The flagellants had some real tiny details. Broke quite a few of their whips too. GW need to thicken their minis and stop with the ludicrous amount of details. Just kidding.

The Genestealers were given a Goblin green base to give them a proper 2nd edition feel. Wish I did it for all my guardsmen too. Started painting a load of Termagaunts too with contrast. They were a little easier to pain than the Genestealers and a nice break too. My Hellhound is also finished. Great model that took some coats to get a proper coverage as I undercoated it black and mostly used brighter colours that covered badly.

Painted a load of Russians too with contrast. Don't know how I'll finish them otherwise as I have around 40 of 'em. Someday I need to get some HQ and support weapons to get a solid and well rounded force for gaming. And lastly I had a zombiegame with one of my daughters. Homebrewn rules that worked great. Almost had my character killed by a Zombie that had some lucky rolls. So tempted at doing a Racoon city themed board for my game. Might do a sepereate post explaining the rules later on.

My backlog is filled with WIP french knights, chaos cultists and Deathkorps of Krieg.
